About

Alli Gray (b.1970) is an Artist and Designer living in Glasgow.

After studying Design and Illustration I moved into a career in healthcare and public services design, which I have practiced for over 15 years. With a desire to express my creativity in a more personal manner, I began painting and exhibiting, initially with pastels, then oils and acrylic. 

Over the years my paintings have developed as I have gained a deeper appreciation of colour theory and seeing things with a more subjective eye. Semi-abstraction has always held such a great appeal, and for me the excitement lies where both figuration and abstraction meet. Whatever the medium or chosen subject, with my paintings I hope to express optimism, resilience and in my own way, celebrate the beauty of nature.
